Egypt's handball team advanced over Macedonia 16/10 in the first half of the semi-finals of the Mediterranean Games currently being held in Algeria.

The first half witnessed a strong rivalry between both teams, but the experiences of the Pharaohs players made the difference to decide the half in their favour.

In the first half, Akram Yousry, Saif Al-Dara', Hassan Walid and Ahmed Al-Ahmar starred, as well as the strong responses of goalkeeper Mohamed Essam Al-Tayyar, as the Pharaohs seek to continue to shine in the second half to qualify for the final.

In the first round, Egypt beat Italy 35/38, beat Serbia in its second match 35/28, and beat Tunisia 30/26 in the third match, to set up a date with Macedonia in the semi-finals.
