The hashtag “Naturalization of the children of female citizens” topped the list of the most prevalent topics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after the amendment of Article 8 of the Saudi nationality system.A royal decree was issued approving the amendment of Article 8 of the Saudi nationality system, and the amendment includes replacing the phrase: “by order of the Prime Minister based on a proposal from the Minister of Interior” in place of the phrase “by a decision of the Minister of Interior.”Article Eight of the Saudi Nationality System
Article 8 of the Saudi nationality system, before the amendment, stipulates that “Saudi nationality may be granted by decision of the Minister of Interior to a person born inside the Kingdom of a foreign father and a Saudi mother if the following conditions are met:
A- To have permanent residence status in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia upon reaching the age of majority.
b- He must be of good conduct and behavior and has never been convicted of a criminal judgment or a prison sentence for a moral crime for a period exceeding six months.
