American restaurant Serendipity3 has announced that it will reissue its record-breaking price-level sandwich in the Guinness Book as the world’s most expensive sandwich for a limited time on the occasion of its annual grilled cheese day.

The price of the sandwich served with French bread is $214 and consists of grilled cheese, edible gold chips and half a pound of a rare type of cheese known as caciocavallo podolico, of which one pound is sold for more than $50.

The high price is because there are only 25,000 cows whose milk is used to produce this cheese.

The sandwich is known as The Quintessential Grilled Cheese and joined Guinness World Records in 2014.

The purchase of this sandwich requires booking 48 hours before purchase to prepare its components.
