Oniric interactive was founded with one goal in mind: improving health care. We want to make medical treatments more humane by offering an alternative to traditional methods of dealing with pain and anxiety during medical procedures. Oniric started as a post graduate project of three game developers at UQAT school of new media. The goal was to create a working prototype for a pilot trial at Ste-Justine Hospital. Seeing the need for this technology, Oniric was founded to improve the existing prototype and keep innovating in therapeutic games. Our games offer a non pharmacological solution to reduce pain and anxiety during medical treatments and hospitalisation. They do not replace standard treatments; they are meant to be use as an adjunct to reduce the amount of sedation required during the interventions. We want to keep innovating and find new ways to offer distraction for the children receiving care.
