Today on Bing. Rovinj, Croatia

$25/hr Starting at $25

Beautiful, historic Rovinj, located in the north Adriatic Sea, is one of Croatia's most visited tourist resorts and an active fishing port. The historic town centre, seen here in today's image, is dominated by the 60-metre-tall bell tower of the Church of St. Euphemia. The church, which was built in the early 1700s over the remains of older Christian holy structures, acts as a beacon that welcomes home the town’s fleet of fishing boats each evening.

More than 2,000 years old, Rovinj was once an island that wasn’t connected to the mainland until 1763. Today the city’s economy is based on tourism, and the romantic cobblestone streets are home to numerous bars, restaurants and museums. It’s on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Istria

Rovinj's Old Town has many tightly-packed colourful houses that add splashes of colour to the winding cobblestone streets. Structures along the waterfront appear as if they’re rising from the sea. There are several small boutique stores, fine art galleries and cafés to visit, easing your way through the historical heart of Rovinj
