1. Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan

  • Bhangarh Fort is the famous haunted place based in Rajasthan, Alwar.
  • Even the Archaeological Survey of India has asked people to avoid entering as soon as it starts getting dark.
  • Why is it haunted? The story dates back to the 16th century, there was a tantrik known by the name Singhia charmed by the Princess Ratnavati of Bhangarh. However, his intentions were unveiled and was killed. Right before he died, he cursed the town and fort to be doomed eternally. Thereby labelled as the most haunted places in India.
  • So now whoever enters the fort after its dark doesn’t come back and are on their own if they do so.
  • What people experienced there? People who visit the fort say that they feel somebody following them and when they turn around its nobody they can see. Also, the visitors complain about hearing a terrifying female voice in the fort in the late evenings and after midnight.
  • 2. Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad
    • Ramoji Film City is one of the country's biggest film cities.
    • The popular film city of Ramoji in Telangana stands as one of the eeriest places in all of India
    • The legend says that it was the battle ground of soldiers and warriors of Nizam. And prior to that it was a burial ground for thieves. Hence a reason for it being in the list of haunted places in India.
    • It’s said to be haunted as there a number of negative spirits in and around city and hotels in the vicinity.
    • What people experience there? Visitors say that they get to hear strange noises and voices and coming across Urdu words on the mirrors. On some other days people get stuck with locked doors and half eaten food when left for some time. 
    • 3. D'Souza Chawl, Mumbai
      • Located in Mahim, a residential area and people live here since forever.
      • But you will be surprised to know about D'Souza Chawl as its habituated but still said to be haunted.
      • The people say that the ghost that haunts the place is believed to be a woman who fell in the well while drawing water from it accidentally. So it is believed to be among the most haunted places in India.
      • She cried for help that time but there was no one who could hear her scream.
      • What people experience there? People who live there say there are sightings of a woman who roams around the place and disappears once its dawn.
