3. Restored 1970 Mustang Donated to Toys for Tots Raises Almost $100K


For our second car donation story, we have a restored 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that was donated to the Toys for Tots Foundation. It made $96,000 at a raffle, and the Northwest Michigan Toys for Tots program will receive about $26,000 of the funds. Read more

A Grand Traverse County family wasn’t home when their house caught on fire, but officials reported that the family lost everything in the fire: the home, clothes, toys and other possessions, and sadly, even their pets. Read more

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District announced that the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie will close for seasonal repairs and maintenance on Sunday, Jan. 15. The locks will close to marine traffic at 11:59 p.m. on the 15th, or until traffic through the locks ceases. They will reopen at 12:01 a.m. on March 25. Read more
