Toyota showcases the expanded Crown line

$5/hr Starting at $25

The Toyota Crown lineup will include saloon, estate and sporty models that will hit the market in a year and a half from now.

As it turns out, the  Toyota Crown, which mixes crossovers and sports utility vehicles,  represents only 25 percent of the Japanese manufacturer's goal, as it is developing three additional classes: the sports class, the saloon class, and the estate class. The elongated box and practicality, along with the recently revealed Crown Crossover. These cars will constitute the 16th generation of the Crown model, having decided in 2020 to skip the revamping of the current generation car and focus on a complete redesign and expansion of its lineup.

At the moment, Toyota is only showing the exteriors of the three cars, and has decided to use tinted glass for all of its windows. Their interiors may not be ready yet or the company simply does not want to display it at this point. The red car is called the Crown Sport, but instead of being a sports car as its name suggests, it's a smaller stylized car with a tailgate instead of the extended door of the larger car.

The Crown saloon is the de facto replacement for the current 15th generation, which has been on sale in Japan since 2018. It's refreshing to see Toyota still think there is a place for a traditional saloon style in this crazy SUV world.

In terms of high-end design, you can easily put the Lexus badge on the car, and you will not feel that the logo is present on a car that does not deserve it. Speaking of which, we must mention that all Crown series cars have the custom crown emblem at the front, while there are Toyota badges at the back.

It is worth noting that the high-end Toyota Crown, the most luxurious model from Toyota to the public in the eighties, was among the ideas that inspired the

Japanese manufacturer to introduce the luxury Lexus brand.

As for the Crown Estate , it's not actually an estate, rather Toyota describes it as a "functional SUV", with rear seats that fold completely flat into the floor to create a spacious luggage area. It looks as big as the 2023 Crown which will hit the market later this year.
