All Services Programming & Development Training, Mentoring, and Writing $100/hr · Starting at $100 From 1993 to 2001, I ran a software training company which had up to five classrooms where we taught all Microsoft software from basic computer skills through MS SQL Server. I created the courses, wrote the courseware, and taught the upper-level courses including Introduction to and Intermediate Programming with Microsoft Access. Since 1993, I have mentored many users at their office on how to use and program software in a one-to-one environment. I find that spending around two hours each week with a user discussing what they need to learn is extremely valuable and they can then use that to go forward and work on their project until they need me again. With my mentor clients, I am always just a phone call away. Software that I have trained or developed in that is not covered anywhere else include WordPerfect, FoxPro, Paradox, Google Docs, and Google Apps Script. When I create larger databases, I start by creating a design document so we all know where we are going with the database. Upon agreement on the design, I create a user requirement document which the database is built upon. The user requirement document includes all forms, reports, and processes that the database will include. When you choose to create a database or a website, you have three choices: 1. Hire me and have me do it all with you having choices along the way -- the most expensive choice; 2. Hire me to do the things you cannot and have your staff do the things they can like building reports and simple forms -- a much less expensive choice; OR 3. Hire me to help your staff build your database on their own with me as a mentor -- the least expensive choice as long as you have staff on hand. By bringing me in as a mentor to train your staff, you end up with staff that knows your database, has built it from the very beginning, and are now trained as database programmers. You no longer need a support contract, you have the staff on hand. It is a wonderful win/win for the client and me.
