Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Transcriptionist to convert audio and video recordings into accurate written text. The ideal candidate will have excellent listening skills, fast and accurate typing abilities, and a strong command of grammar and punctuation. The role requires the ability to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and format transcripts according to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Listen to audio and video recordings and transcribe spoken content into written format.
- Edit and proofread transcripts for accuracy, grammar, and clarity.
- Identify and label speakers in multi-speaker files (if required).
- Research and verify technical terms, industry-specific jargon, and proper names.
- Follow client-specific formatting and style guidelines.
- Ensure transcripts are delivered on time while maintaining high quality.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
- Proficiency in English (or other required languages).
- Fast and accurate typing skills (recommended speed: 60+ WPM).
- Strong knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Familiarity with transcription software and tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Otter.ai, Descript).
- Ability to distinguish different accents and dialects.
- Good research skills for industry-specific terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Previous transcription experience is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience transcribing medical, legal, or technical content.
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates are a plus.
- Familiarity with time-stamping, verbatim transcription, or closed captioning.
