I have been a self-employed medical transcriptionist for over six years. I have experience in gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery and pain management, dermatology, and a little bit of oncology. I have transcribed for many different doctors with varying accents (including foreign). I received my certificate in medical transcription from the Community College of Rhode Island in 2006 with a 4.0 GPA. I am meticulous in my work habits. I have excellent grammar and punctuation skills, and I always proofread my work before turning it in. I have a complete home office set up. I use Microsoft Word 2010 on a daily basis. I have a foot pedal and headset as well as a variety of transcription software to ensure I can transcribe all different types of files.
