I type at a rate of over 100 words per minute, allowing me to easily keep up with the rate of speech within most audio or video files. I schedule my transcription jobs at a 1:2 ratio, meaning every minute of recording audio or video equals two minutes of transcription work. For example, an hour of recorded audio or video equals two hours of transcription work. This does vary with the quality of the recording. If the recording is poor quality and difficult to understand, it will take longer to transcribe accurately.
