Translation is an interpretive puzzle, all about finding the way that something would be said normally in another language. With a degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Indiana University Bloomington I cultivated my passion for translation during my university years. After graduation I spent 6 weeks in Mexico, and two and half years in Spain studying the language and teaching. This experience aided me in learning common speech patterns in addition to my written and formal educational training. I translated internal documents and exams in the elementary school I worked at, and offered freelance English translation work for a small number of clients. I continue to use my Spanish skills in my current role at a food bank and am looking for further freelance experience. I have a passion to master these puzzles, aiding in communication across cultures in order to create a better world.
