I will have a few fundamental questions relating to the tone and style of the wording which will need to be addressed. It is also one thing to translate single words or phrases that are not visualised in context – easier and with more risk of false positives - and quite another to see their placement and integration in entirety. Translation terminology is researched contextually in order to find definitive terms. I use an open source CAT tool which enables me to keep track of translation grammar and word-usage to ensure consistency over large documents. Each translation is *handcrafted* using available technology (including the Internet) to be as efficient and discerning as possible. While machine translation may assist somewhat with pointers, my experience is that they are often detrimental in pursuing a correct translation. Background I am a native English speaker/reader/writer with 28 years of experience in a German speaking/reading/writing environment – Switzerland. I have extensive translation and proofreading experience, both as a freelancer and in my daily job in my “previous life” where I applied my skills in a small advertising and publishing house in Switzerland. I trust that you will understand that I adhere stringently to a non-disclosure policy.
