I am currently pursuing an MA degree in philosophy from Western Michigan University, USA. I have lived in the US for almost a year, working as a teaching assistant while studying. I will be an instructor of record in the Fall semester. Before coming to the US, I had been freelancing as an English to Indonesian translator, mainly for philosophical texts. This experience earned me a wide range of vocabulary and an ability to quickly learn new subjects. In philosophy, we are used to jumping to and fro between various disciplines, from natural to social sciences. I was also an intern for a non-governmental organization working on international political affairs, where I was responsible for attending discussions and writing minutes and reports, both in English and Indonesian. Before that, when I was still in high school, I was an assistant editor for a young adult imprint of one of the leading publishing companies in Indonesia. I was assigned to proofread a subsequently bestselling book in Indonesian. Virtual freelancing work is not a new thing for me. I was a personal assistant for the owner of Foxglove Tarot, who also sells jewelry. I was responsible for data entry and content writing. I will be happy to do not just translation works, but also works that involve writing and internet research. My experiences make me unique regarding the range of skills and knowledge that I have.
