I started my translation path along with other Brazilian folks. Together they formed informal teams (but very organized) to subtitle TV Series. I participated in two teams InSUBs and ComicSubs for a while, and that was my first experience with translation work. After a few months of experience, I started translating to TED.com as a volunteer. I also started creating subtitles in Portuguese to California Academy of Sciences helping in educational short videos and to Amara.org completing paid jobs. In the meantime, I had the opportunity to improve my English after spending one year as an exchange student at Minnesota State University, Mankato. From there I learned a lot from the English language. After I got back to Brazil, I was confident in my skills to translate for everyone. Now I decided to offer my skills at Upwork so I can help people translate/subtitle/transcript anything from English to Brazilian Portuguese and vice versa.
