A lot of people can speak two languages and love learning new ones. However, just because they love languages doesn’t mean that they can translate. Not only that you have to be able to speak two languages, you also have to be able to understand them. Reading comprehension plays a very important role if you want to become a translator. If you can’t understand the meaning of a text, you won’t be able to translate it correctly. The second necessary skill is that you’re able to use dictionaries. Believe me even the best translators need to look things up. You just can’t know every single word of a language. And the last and most important thing are your composition skills. Do you read the text and know that it was translated? If the answer is yes, start again. My name is Jennifer and I believe I have all the skills I mentioned above. I was born in Germany, spent one year in France and live in Ireland. As I love languages I decided to become a multilingual assistant. I learned how to translate general and business related texts from French into German, English into German and from German into French and English. If you need help with your translations, I'd be happy to help you!
