At eDOT Solutions, the goal is to clearly describe the project requirements, starting with the user interface and user experience, collaboratively with our customers. We begin by developing interconnected wireframes that rapidly evolve into screens that look and feel just like what the final app should. These screens enumerate each view the application will have, and describe the flow of information and user interaction via different use cases of the app. This process is completed in an intensive face-to-face workshop involving our business analyst and end-users. If a face-to-face session is not logistically possible, we meet up using collaborative screen sharing and video conferencing tools. The storyboards and screens developed during the workshops clearly describe the flow of the application, as well as the business rules for all types of a what-if scenario. Such scenarios and rules are best developed when customers and end-users have access to a realistic prototype that they can 'play' with on the target devices. eDOT utilizes state of the art cloud-based tools, including Sketch, InVisionApp and JIRA, to design, prototype and document system requirements and design.
