Urban Design

$35/hr Starting at $700

Urban Design is oftentimes associated to a large scope of activity associated to city planning and development. As an individual urban designer however, my academic training and some professional experience has taught me how to organize and illustrate data pertaining to a certain project or idea which can then be assessed for feasibility and presented to a client. If you are interested in creating a certain space such as a bike path, waterfront development or new financial or residential district, I can research statistics, planning particulars and legalities, create conceptual 2D and 3D drawings and illustrations and create a case for the development. One that can be visualised by a layman and then hopefully realized as a reality. The role of an Urban Designer is to paint a picture for what the final product will look like and how it will operate. Create possible scenarios and highlight its advantages and benefits to all identified stakeholders. My work samples illustrate projects ranging from rejuvenating a heritage site, planning new housing models to accommodate density, waterfront development overlapped with flood mediation and brownfield remediation and cultural and community spaces. Work begins with thoroughly researching the target audience, financial and physical stakeholders, technical knowledge (for remediation etc), sustainability aspects, site specific particulars for creating a human-friendly environment and so on. After these macro and Micro-level analyses comes the design.
