For the purpose of designing mobile app & responsive web design, I am offering my expertise to work as UX researcher & designer.
In general there will be three to five phases of the project based on complexity and scale:
- research,
- ideation & design
- testing & iteration.
Each of these phases will have individual milestones detailed below.
Phase 1: Research
Explore secondary research options and existing knowledge about the target audience.
Plan and conduct primary research with following objectives:
· Identify key user demographics
· Understand user pain points, build empathy maps
· Clearly define problem statement, goal statement, user personas, competitive audit
· High level view of the probable solution
Phase 2: Ideation & Design
Phases 2 & 3 will be repetitive as the design prototypes will be tested and modified according to user feedback. Phase 2 includes planning and executing the UX design strategy up to the prototyping stage.
· Ideate design options with brainstorming sessions (How Might We, Crazy 8)
· Design paper wireframes, Digital lo-fi wireframes, Lo-Fi prototype and usability testing (phase 3)
· Design digital hi-fi wireframes, Hi-Fi prototype and usability testing (phase 3)
· Repeat the design and test phases as required
Phase 3: Test & Iterate
Plan and conduct usability testing on prototypes developed in phase 2.
· Create a usability study research plan
· Execute the usability study
· Analyze and document the findings.
· Repeat the design process based on the outcomes.
Milestones
PHASE 1
· 50 to 60 user screener surveys
· 20 to 30 user interviews
· Research Documentation
· Competitive UX Audit
PHASE 2
· Ideation, User Flows and User Journey Maps
· Wireframes & Prototypes (several iterations)
PHASE 3
· Usability Study Plan
· Prototype testing
· Final Design
Timeline
- The timeline depends upon the complexity and scale of the project and can vary from several weeks to several months.
Timeline depends upon the client providing necessary information to proceed
Timeline also depends upon the scheduling and availability of research participants.
Research participants will be chosen online through social media or online survey and research platforms.
