I have 20 years of experience in the business world, all of them for insurance and financial services companies. The last 12 of those years were spent in Information Technology (IT). From my technical side, I am used to working on projects with deadlines and am familiar with the technical jargon used within the IT industry through on-the-job experience and reading technical manuals, industry publications, and websites for the Information Technology professional. Working in the business side of my employers' companies before working in IT proved to be invaluable in communicating technical information to IT customers.
