Working as a Technical support engineer in Vmware India Pvt Ltd that offers me to support the customers on daily basis playing a technical and responsible role in troubleshooting the problems logged by the users in day-to-day. Roles & Responsibilities: • Supporting multiple customers with remote and telecommunication support in vmware. • Good Understanding of virtualization technology. • Supporting VMware vSphere 5.x and vSphere 6.0 (Esxi 5.5, ESXi6.0, vCenter 5.x and 6.0, vSphere update manger, VMware standalone convertor 6.0) • Ability to retain resolution focus under pressure Extensive troubleshooting in vSphere products. Proving in-depth log analysis on any failure and error in VMware vSphere product • Providing in-depth RCA (Root cause analysis) on critical issues Like PSOD (Purple screen of Death) • Advance knowledge and hands-on experience working with VMware technology in enterprise environment. • In depth troubleshooting in storage and networking issues in VMware • Provided support for escalated cases in VMware • Installation and configuration of v-Center server 5.5 and 6.0 with external and embedded PSC node. • Configured VMFS and NFS data store from third party storage (HP 3 par, EMC, NETAPP • Troubleshooting issues related to snapshots and backup, upgrades of vCenter and Esxi &Update manager. • Performance monitoring and tuning of virtual machines • Creating, installing, configuring and maintaining virtual machines • Migration of virtual machine through v-Motion and s-Vmotion across the datacenter. • Working as per the SLA for critical customer's and closing the cases within deadline Trouble shooting done on HA - High availability & DRS (Distributive Resource Scheduler) • Solve complex datacenter problems with the help of remote access tools (Cisco WebEx) , phone to ensure maximum uptime of Virtual Infrastructure. Perform log analysis and stack trace decoding of Esxi crash • Identify and isolate infrastructure level issues at different tiers of a datacenter • Assist customers during conference calls with Server, storage and Network vendors • Virtual machine management on ESX such as snapshots, backups, cloning p2v, RDM, power operations • Re-produce issues in house on the test-lab environments in house and understand technical functionalities of the product and infrastructure • Understand product defects and refer old /existing bugs to understand the fixes/workarounds • Install, configure and troubleshoot storage with respect to ESX server such as hardware and software iSCSI, NFS and FC. • Understand product defects and refer old /existing bugs to understand the fixes/workarounds
