I never dunked. Not once. Even on fast breaks, with plenty of court ahead to build momentum, I'd leap for the rim full of heart -- soaring, extending, hanging in mid-air -- as mentally I stuffed the ball through the hoop . . . only to settle for yet another layup. I haven't changed. You'd think. All these years later, you'd think I'd learned some damned thing about limitations.
