I've been building websites for personal use since 2008 and began using Wordpress around that same time. I've built everything from online forums and ecommerce sites to basic blogs.
I'm well versed in a variety of plugins that transform Wordpress into dynamic sites, including: WooCommerce, bbPress, BuddyPress, WP Auctions, and so many more. I go above and beyond just building a cool site by ensuring it's optimized for both speed and search engines.
Every Wordpress site I build incorporates a foundation of plugins (if applicable) to create a secure, fast, reliable, and optimized experience for the end user.
Backups: I use Updraft Backups in order to automate routine backups of the site.
SEO: Combining dynamically generated sitemaps with powerful Search Engine Optimized content, page titles, alt text, and more is imperative to success of even the most basic of budgets.
Speed: Most websites can incorporate caching features to some degree, but I also am experienced with CDNs and code optimization plugins.
SMTP Emails: Most clients are building on top of shared web hosting where email deliverability is horrendous. Instead of using built in PHPMail for forms and other automated emails, I always use SMTP credentials with a plugin to ensure your emails get to their recipients.
These are not special additions to a project, but part of the underlying foundation that's allowed me to take sites on new domains, 0 visitors, 0 page views, and 0 back links to 20,000 visitors in less than 6 months. It took years of experience to get to that point, but I digress.
In fact, I currently run a blog that gets 20,000 to 30,000 visitors per month almost entirely from organic search results. I also launched an online apparel store that runs with Wordpress/Woocommerce integrated with a print-on-demand service that's completely automated.
Over the years, I've acquired a variety of skills that combined have made my own website endeavors successful, so I decided to start offering my services to clients in Central Iowa where I live. Eventually, I would start working with clients as far as California and Florida. Realizing the capabilities of remotely helping those clients encouraged me to bring my skills to UpWork and help clients across the globe.
