I'm a 10 year seasoned software developer specializing in data-centric web applications. Primary tool set including PHP, JavaScript, Ruby, VB.NET, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, SQLite, Memcached, Sphinx and Jenkins. Database experience includes extensive work in stored procedures, Pl/SQL, Pg/SQL and large data sets. Experienced in various web framework/platforms including Symfony2, MooTools, JQuery, Rails, Joomla, and Wordpress etc. I've had a great deal of experience in enhancing the performance of heavy data load web applications, and also building many applications from the ground up. I'm very comfortable as a completely behind-the-scenes developer, or more visible roles including conversations with stake holders and end-users for requirements gathering or feedback. Additional non-IT skills include creative writing (fiction or non-fiction), simple graphic design and basic music production/composing. I'm an amateur novelist and blogger and enjoy working in Flash or Garageband for fun. Currently located in Yokohama, Japan, but maintaining an address and bank accounts in the US.
