In a small city in Texas between Dallas and Fort Worth lives a Great Dane who has just been recognised as the world’s tallest dog.
Two years old and named after the Greek deity who ruled the heavens, Zeus does not live in the sky, driving storm clouds before his furrowed brow, but he is tall enough to drink straight from the kitchen tap.
His status as the greatest living Great Dane was announced by Guinness World Records, which said it had confirmed that Zeus was taller, at 3ft 5.18in (1.046m), than any dog alive today.
