Born in a small town in western North Carolina, I've lived most of my life in Rocky Mount, NC. After some college, my obsession with computers, coupled with my precise math and problem solving abilities, began a ten year career in accounting. My attention to detail and organizational abilities were refined and proven. My graphic design and desktop publishing skills had always been a "bonus" to my employers and it became clear that it was the work that I preferred. I began by freelancing as graphic designer and bookkeeper in 1997. With almost five years of creative experience under my belt, I moved to Atlanta and took a Prepress Management position with a thermography printing company. I developed my hands-on, production printing skills and was successful at targeting printing hurdles, identifying design problems, solving system and file format issues, and educating clients about common prepress problems. After the birth of my son, I continued the part-time freelancing that I enjoy. W
