I am a tamer of unwieldy prose known for my panache and humor; a communications maven, as it were, for organizations, corporations and agencies, large and small. I am a creative and prolific writer, editor, project manager and designer. Over several decades, I have produced feature articles, press releases, newsletters, speeches, blogs, scripts, ad copy, website content, brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, ads, books and promotional materials. I come equipped with extensive experience in and around Capitol Hill, as well as with non-profit associations, government agencies and corporations, in a variety of fields. I can write. Clearly and quickly and with pizazz, if required. I’m detail-oriented, creative, analytical and a team player. Not only am I a spot-on communicator but an editorial tour-de-force, as well. I can find a miscreant comma, an errant apostrophe or a dangling participle in an ocean of unwieldy prose. I know AP Style better than I know my own mother. I am adept with social media management and content generation skills; I keep up with social media trends and best practices. I am a quick study. My skills as a communications maven and my ability to identify and sharpen an overall strategy means I can bring a fresh perspective and a coordinated approach to the task at hand. I relish a challenge and the opportunity to learn and contribute. My ability to jump into new content areas of expertise is one of my major strengths. I have worked on projects on topics ranging from immigration reform, age discrimination, Social Security, and media in developing countries to the HUGO awards, motivational speaking, underwater camera equipment and what goes into the making of a national beer ad. I enjoy the challenge of mastery. I'm curious about and interested in unfamiliar subjects. As such, I can explain or describe most non-mathematical industry jargon to the layperson.
