I am Angie Hoover: film school graduate, advocate for the arts, and lover of all things creative. Currently, I am a research coordinator and technical writer for NYU as well as a theater critic for This Stage LA and Stephen Leigh Morris’s Stage Raw. Through the years, my skills and interests have placed me in many positions where communication is central. As a former casting producer, Jr. college instructor, and executive assistant in charge of mainstream PR, my written work ranges from marketing, to criticism, to journalism and beyond. In the realm of academia, my nonfiction work, ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin: Abolitionism within the confines of Domesticity’, was awarded publication by Sage Press for its accomplishment in research and literary analysis and I have been invited to share my more recent works in criticism and teaching methodology at both The 2014 National Undergraduate Literature Conference and The 2017 Southern California Writing Center Conference. Additionally, I have years of experience writing blog content for a literary magazine and am a resident playwright for the True Focus Theater Company in North Hollywood. In all my endeavors, I hope to encourage and support powerful cinema, performance art, music, and all works that offer sincere insight about the human condition. I hope you will consider me for one of your open positions.
