Expert in all forms of writing, especially creative and academic. Advanced degrees in writing and language (MFA Fiction Writing, Doctorate in Composition and writing pedagogy), multiple novels published and screenplays written, many courses in English Lit, creative writing (Fiction and Screenwriting) and Composition taught. Awarded a full doctoral fellowship in 1987 to Idaho State University, one of only two awarded nationally that year, I composed curricula on every level of writing and a segment of my thesis was a short novel, later also published Dublin. I focused on composition pedagogy; a year in grad psychology. I later taught, two years of creative writing During the 90s I lived on the Oregon Coast where I was an editor for a pre-production publishing concern based in San Francisco; and worked for Spooner Industries, publishers of Oregon Coast Magazine when I learned much about the workings of small press and electronic publishing, attendant legal matters thereof, and dealing with writers. Prior to my hiring at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 2002, I became a book distributor with old friend, Dublin writer Niall Quinn, who launched a book concern. At Northeastern State U I did the groundwork for a university press. , I formulated curricula for many new courses: Creative Writing (non-fiction); Novel Writing (a basic fiction workshop/elements of craft course); Screenwriting; Advanced Fiction Writing Workshop; Form and Theory: Fiction among them. Three were successful and went into permanent catalogue. I decided to go into “semi-retirement” in May of 2009 to write. I finished Ben & Sarah: A Murder in Mississippi, a novel based on the notorious 1995 shooting spree in Mississippi and Louisiana perpetrated by Ben Darras and Sarah Edmondson, (the niece of the OK Attorney General). I interviewed Ben (who shot a friend of John Grisham’s) at Parchman Penitentiary in MS in 2006 and 2007. I also taught there in 2007 for the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Since then I went back to work at Bacone College where I was the Director of Composition and Developmental writing and headed the English department as well. If it has to do with writing or teaching writing I can do it.
