I'm the published author of 15 books ranging from science fiction and fantasy to nonfiction sports, popular culture, and business-related books, to a children's book. As a publishing professional for more than 20 years I have edited hundreds of books for various publishers and individuals; taught advanced writing and publishing for more than 15 years at the university level and in workshops and conferences; and done a variety of large-scale writing and rewriting projects on a work-for-hire basis. I do a lot of work with new writers who have an interesting project they can't finish on their own (recent clients have included a talented but dyslexic writer who met monthly for editorial conferences and a noted soldier and inventor who needed help turning a lifetime of notes into a memoir before he lost his battle with cancer). My original training is as a historian, so I enjoy taking on quirky projects or helping people solve story problems or turn interesting but flawed ideas into strong books.
