Transcription is a process in which a video or an audio is converted into writing document. There are two main transcription practises firstly verbatim and cleaned read. Verbatim practise transcribes the text word for word, and includes all speech and utterance that the speaker conveys example scripted media. Clean read is a text format that excludes speech errors, filler words, and other non interventional utterance from speaker e.g. non scripted media, public speaking events and interviews.

As a transcriber I will be creating accurate written versions of audio and video recordings, reviewing and editing transcriptions and identifying any inconsistencies. I will complete transcription in timely manner. I will also be proofreading meaning examined text carefully to find and correct typographical errors and mistakes in grammar style and spelling.
