Professional linguist, teacher, and writer
I have always had a passion for reading, writing ,and learning languages. So I eventually earned a Ph.D. in linguistics. Along the way I have also studied, taught, read, and written about cognitive science, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, and literature. I have published some research and educational materials in linguistics, and I am interested now in writing for larger audiences, in more creative ways. I have taught for much of 20 years at several high quality educational institutions and teach now at Tuane University in New Orleans. I have received many high evaluations of my teaching and writing.
I have a gift for explaining things, I'm told. I also try to have an ear for the rhythms and nuances of artful language. I do not write advertisements or SEO; i wish to express knowledge and imagination--to educate and entertain, not to manipulate consumers! Work Terms
I currently work anytime, hourly, or by other agreement. My rate can range between $20 / hr for the lightest proofreading or editing up to $50 / hr or more for writing work that demands advanced knowledge and skills. It's negotiable. Make me an offer. I ask that contracts be made official and funded through the Guru Safepay system, for both our best interests.
