About

With 20 years of experience as a freelance writer/editor, I can guarantee customer satisfaction and timely delivery of manuscripts.

I was born in the UK but have lived abroad since 1975. I taught English in the Sudan and Venezuela, then studied a Creative Writing degree at San Francisco State University, In the late 1980s, I moved to Thailand where I first worked as an English teacher at the British Council and at Chiang Mai University. During the 1990s I began to sell freelance stories to inflight magazines and newspapers, and became a full-time writer/photographer in 1998. I have written and updated guidebooks for publishers like National Geographic and Rough Guides, and since 2015 I have also taken on several editing jobs. Currently, I am International Editor for Connect, the newsletter of HelpAge International, editing articles written by non-native speakers of English, which allows me time to take on occasional editing jobs.
