Passion to teach Physics for grade 6 to A level, 12 standard IGCSE, CBSE, ICSE and state government boards

Dr. N. Rathankar Rao is a faculty in physics, working at an international school in Bangalore, India, since November 2018. He has 18 years of experience in teaching students from school level (Competitive and board exams) to university level (M.Tech students). He has two post graduate degrees one in physics from Bangalore University and other in Bioinformatics from Annamalai University. He has a doctoral degree in Biophysics from Bangalore University. He has published 10 research papers in reputed international journals and is an author of a book known as " Basics of computer applications to Biologists". for the 4th semester, B.E (Biotechnology). He had mentored three students from SRM university towards their doctoral degree. He was the first researcher at the university level to work on Human genome project, when the first draft was announced in 2003. He had received a grant of 13.8 lakhs from Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU, Karnataka) for a project on "Understanding the role of disordered regions in drug targets implicated in cancer".

He has interests in designing toys for school children, that can be used to explain concepts in physics, writing blogs for understanding complex topics in physics and finding patterns in learning. He has designed a free website for physics enthusiasts (http://physics4u.org), wherein physics concepts can be understood by solving problems.

Work Terms

I work as a freelancer to teach physics in the evening hours from 7.00 - 8.00 pm and 9.00 - 11.00 pm. I charge around $7 per hour to teach the students using Skype. I have a neutral ascent in spoken english and explain the concepts using pen and paper. I can take a snapsnot of what has been written and send it to the students, who can then use it as a reference material. I can be reached at rathankar@gmail.com
