Originally from the Pacific Northwest in the Portland, Oregon area, as of Spring of 2013, I’m now a resident of sunny Long Beach, California. I grew up in the rain and mud surrounded by trees in the foothills of Camas, Washington. Camas is a small paper mill town, which usually gets made fun of for its putrid smell. Lucky for this artist, he grew up outside of town in the woods. No we were not hillbillies, but close. We didn’t have cell phone reception anywhere on the property. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice and quiet which is what I think I hated and missed about the place. I think I started drawing to escape reality and what’s worse is I got hooked on it at a very young age. I was stealing paper from the old dot matrix printer in my dad’s office. I was a junky and my drug of choice was crayons. My parents, who always supported me, were my dealers. They helped me take art classes that were not offered through the schools.
I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design from the Portland Art Institute in 2008. I have big dreams and ambitions.
I enjoy the creativity of Graphic Design. I wanted a job that I wouldn’t mind doing every day that is rewarding and challenging. I remember my excitement the first time I saw my work published on a large scale. I have big dreams and ambitions. My specialty is publication design, illustration, and photo manipulation.
My other passions include painting. That’s kind of what led me to attend the Art Institute in the first place. After learning the art of graphic design, I started focusing on my paintings more in my spare time. I work with both oil and acrylic paints. My drive to be different has caused me to find this new medium and tools to create work that I hope will leave people in awe!
