NO SUBCONTRACTING
When hiring a professional, make sure the consultant you hire will not subcontract your work to a lower-cost, unqualified, or offshore third party. When your work is subcontracted, you lose control of your intellectual property and are not assured that work has been performed by an experienced, degree-qualified professional. Your reputation also rests in the hands of an unknown party who submitted the lowest bid.
Due to the cost justification associated with offshore labor and the ease of cloud-based hiring, subcontracting has become a common practice in the industry and on Guru. As a sole proprietor, I take sole responsibility for all work assigned. No project - in whole or in part - has been subcontracted, ever.
PROCESS
Projects flow as follows.
1. My client and I outline the project scope.
2. I calculate and present a quote.
3. My client signs my contract and pays a good-faith deposit.
4. I conduct discovery, data collection, and an email interview (when applicable).
5. I complete the project and present content.
6. I receive feedback and manage optional fine-tuning as needed.
TERMS
I quote on an easy-to-understand fixed cost basis, not hourly, by estimating the time and investment needed to complete each project to my client's total satisfaction. This includes initial discovery, independent creative brainstorming, copywriting, proofreading, and any necessary client revisions following draft delivery. There are no hidden costs, nor do I ask that my client split the job fee.
