I believe in growing nonprofits.
Abbey Scott is originally from Bozeman, MT. She graduated from New Mexico State University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business and Economics. After graduating she moved to Melstone, MT, a very rural ranching community of 137 people to serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA. During her VISTA term she focused on Community and Economic Development. Some of the projects she helped jump start were; the community garden, the farmers market, after school programming, Coyote Derby with FFA and a weekly community newsletter.
After her VISTA term was completed Abbey moved to Cody, WY to be with her husband. She began working with BBBS NWWY as a Match Specialist in July 2009 and because of her hard work and dedication to our organizations mission Abbey has been promoted multiple times and is now our Chief Program Officer.
Abbey serves on multiple coalitions and boards including; Christ Episcopal Church Mission Committee, Safe Kids of Park County, Suicide Prevention Alliance, Park County Health Coalition, CORE Team and also is a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). Abbey and her husband have 3 lovely dogs, 9 horses and a cow who just had a baby calf. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family and dogs, attending bible study, being a PRCA rodeo timer and finding mentors for children in need. Abbey is passionate about her work with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the children we serve.
