I am a first-year medical student, data analyst and a data science & AI enthusiast. I am passionate about the possibilities when medicine and tech could meet.
Ever since I was in high school I was interested in AI in healthcare and medicine and medical informatics. I got all scores required to get me into medical school, took a gap year then embarked on a journey to learn data science and data analysis.
I have spent a year learning about machine learning and deep learning plus of course all the necessary prerequisite in calculus, statistics, computer science and programming.
Now I am a freshman in medical school and I am already voluntarily teaching CS students in Alexandria Unversity python and data analysis as part of HackerRank Campus Club Technical team. I have recently participated in recent Kaggle OSIC Pulmonary Fibrosis Competition where I being part of a team, developed a model that uses Ct scans, certain descriptive features of patients and history of FVC measurements to forecast future FVC value. This value was used to observe pulmonary fibrosis progression in patients. I was the youngest in the team which consisted of a Biomedical Engineering PhD student, a communication engineer and a business analyst.
