Materials Engineer / Product & Industrial Design Consultant / Metals Procurement Specialist

I am a Materials Engineer graduated from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore. I have a strong theoretical background coupled with a hands on experience of different classes of materials used in manufacturing of a whole lot of products, like automobiles, home appliances, consumer goods, electronics, aircrafts, machinery, oil and gas, chemicals etc. I can effectively present concepts of product design on 3D modelling softwares like SolidWorks, etc. My clients can consult me about material selection, for which, I can provide a morphological matrix, highlighting advantages and/or drawbacks, effectiveness, economics etc.

I am currently doing my research on Finite Element Analysis of thin brittle films deposited on ductile substrates, using Abaqus. I have a considerable experience in research on materials using advanced characterization techniques like XRD, SEM, AFM, XRF, Raman Spectroscopy etc. I have been successful in publishing my group research work in "Ceramics International' journal.

I have been a part of a reputable organization, which imports Steel products in Pakistan from all over the world. I have been endowed with the following responsibilities:
➢ I inspect and evaluate material details of flat rolled steel, mainly, HRC, CRC, GI, and PPGI for
procurement from various mills around the world.
➢ I interpret engineering drawings and make any necessary 3D models.
➢ I make cost estimates for giving a quotation
➢ I calculate expected cost of import of material and advise any changes in order to bring it down.
➢ I manage shipment documentation (CI, PL, BL, FTA, MTC etc.) of imported merchandise
➢ I keep inventory records on MS Excel and MS Access
➢ I manage deliveries to customers.
➢ I manage correspondence with suppliers, banks, customer, brokers etc.
