A reasonably well-travelled Brit with a flair for writing, editing, communicating and, increasingly, educating. I hold a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lancaster University and Master's in Intelligence and Security Studies from the University of Salford. Beyond my own blogging efforts I have written extensively for the likes of the UK Defence Forum, Defense Industry Daily, and have made a serious contribution to the editorial content of ETH Zürich's International Relations and Security Network (ISN). I also have a background in public affairs and communications strategies. My work and services have been accessed by UK Parliamentarians and professionals from across the defence and other industrial sectors.
It's safe to say that I have always enjoyed writing. Whether it's writing an academic essay, crafting a blog article or simply telling an amusing story via email or letter, I've always relished the challenge of putting together an elegant, coherent and free flowing piece of text. I get the same satisfaction from editorial work too. People work hard on their editorial materials and always have a sense of pride and achievement with their end product. I like to take that person's work that extra mile in order to make it stand out even more in our busy and crowded world.
I'm just as happy telling a story as I am getting straight to the point. This means that I'm just as comfortable creating materials that keep an audience engaged until the very end or providing people with all the information they need to know as soon as possible. That's particularly important given that social media continues to change how we access and make use of information. Indeed, working with such media in high-pressured environments has merely heightened my ability to write confidently and supply my clients with the end product on time.
Work Terms
I'm pretty flexible in terms of working hours. Just bear in mind that I'm based in Switzerland so am 1 hour ahead of London etc.
