Industry Chameleon, strategist and technologist
I am a well, versed business professional, who has built a wealth of knowledge by traversing many markets across the span of my career. I have purposely sought diverse roles, to continually expand my business acumen such that I remain an invaluable employee for each, and every employer I have worked with or company I have consulted to. I have held roles covering the breadth of the project lifecycle and senior roles such as Project/Business Development and General Manager positions. I continually strive to identify and then deliver opportunities, which increase or extend the value offering of the company I represent.
With 30 years of practical and extensive Electrical, Telecommunications, Construction, Technology and Entrepreneurial experience, I am currently identifying, new and emerging technologies, which will assist business units in achieving increased BAU operational efficiencies, in turn providing pass-through benefits for clients. Supplementing this, I am ascertaining and developing new markets that expand market presence, aligning with the current corporate growth strategies.
As an MBA graduate, I also understand the fragility of the current business landscape and work to better place a company in a strategically stronger position. I strive to create opportunities, which sit outside of the tendering process through strategic supplier partnerships; development of financial and business models, which drive innovative solutions for capital-constrained clients; engage with emerging or commercialising technology companies to open “Blue Ocean” markets; and bring together complementary companies to deliver integrated solutions not currently available in the marketplace.
Work Terms
I am based in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. Although I reside in a location that is within 1 hour +/- of the majority of the world's population, if I am engaged by a client outside of this timezone, I am able to provide working hour crossover efficiencies or overnight work completion opportunities. I am happy to work on a fixed rate for really small, less than a weeks worth of work time projects, but on an hourly rate outside of this. Obviously, the hourly rate is variable dependent on the length of the project. Where a project is long term, and the work is guaranteed by an engagement, the rate is negotiable.
I am flexible with these terms, as I am more about generating long term, mutually beneficial engagements. So I would suggest that we have a discussion to understand each others commitment and intent in the relationship over the course of a project.
