Data analysis caught me off-guard.
I've been involved in spare parts and aftersales career for as long as I can remember. I do identify the correct spare parts for specific machinery and accomplish successful sales. Having my mechanical engineering B.Sc. under my belt made me suitable for that role.
I've always found it an indispensable trait to help both customers and colleagues.
One day, my boss was asked to provide a statistic of the number of machines installed at every customer in the seven-country region we cover. Since it was me who built the machines' list, I volunteered to provide the statistic required. It took me four days to clean and filter down to the outcome needed.
Inevitable questions kept bugging me, ever since!
Why is it very time-consuming to get a simple statistic out of data we already have?
What if an analysis was required, like what about the trends in each country?
Those questions and more led me to learn about "Data Science & Machine Learning", and bam, my career took a drastic change-lane. Data Analysis using Python, Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, Numpy, and many other data analysis-specific packages were the answer to getting the best analytics out of a dataset.
