My job is to convert the data provided by a company in a form which can be used for data analysis of various types like comparing the growth of the company as compared to the previous year.

My previous company was a government project funded by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs where in a helpline was setup for consumer complaints called National consumer Helpline, of various nature. As I have had the exposure of maintaining data and analysing it for various types of complaints received, I was given the task of compiling data concerning the geagraphical distribution of calls; Calls received of diverse sectors/ industries; Calls received from different age group of people; What was the source through which the consumer came to know about the helpline so on and so forth. And generating reports- charts and graphs to understand different aspects like from which state the maximum number of complaints were received; what are the sectors/ industries of which maximum number of complaints were received so that we can have a contact point with such companies on behalf of the ministry and workout a solution to the increasing number of complaints in their sector. There was the data of consumers calling up and telling us the source through which they came to know about the helpline. So that we can accordingly channelise the funds in advertising about the helpline. I worked there as a Data Analyst for eight years. When I saw that the field of data analytics has a lot of scope in terms of freelancing and and monetary growth, I quit the job and started freelancing as a data analyst. I upgraded myself with the latest tools of data analysis by doing the necessary courses available in the market. And so here I am trying to expand my horizon.

Work Terms

I like to work in the day time, keeping the evening time for personal and family affairs. And also in upgrading myself. So, a work schedule of 20-30 hours in a week is what suites me but it is not a hard and fast rule.
