PowerPoint Presentations that Get Results

Circa 2001, I designed and delivered my first professional presentation, in a meeting with the CEO and senior management of my company. It was a quarterly progress update meeting. The numbers i presented were nothing to write about. A couple of days later, over 300 employees in the organization received an e-mail from the CEO, with a copy of my presentation attached, and a note that said, "this is how i would like to see progress update presentations".

Over 14 years since then, I have designed and delivered several presentations, in a role of business analyst with Fortune 500 companies across US, UK and India.

Every single presentation, without an exception, has taught me a thing or two - be it about presentation structure, flow, graphics, colors, fonts or be it about voice modulation or something as simple as; always carry your own remote to control slides :)

I have felt like being on the top of the world when audiences reacted as expected. I have also experienced the disappointment when audiences occasionally gave me a cold shoulder. For sure, i loved every moment of it and learnt a lot in the process.

Being in India gives you and i an opportunity to use the time zone differences to our advantage. Normally i work between 9 am and 7 pm (IST) (GMT +5.30) through Monday to Saturday, but i am flexible enough for urgent assignments. Being extremely sensitive to meeting deadlines also requires me to stretch my CoP hours at times.
