Teacher, storyteller, self-publisher dedicated to helping others pass along their values through the stories they tell.
Stories matter. Inside of the stories that we repeat are the values of family, schools, businesses, sports teams, churches, non-profits, and any other arena of life. How we tell those stories determines how well those to whom we are telling them perpetuate our values.
I began writing for a local newspaper in seventh grade and have written for various outlets ever since. I teach high school English and world geography to students with learning disabilities and have taught "regular" English and creative writing in the past. I have self-published several books: Lines in the Gravel, Stories from the Roller Coaster, and the Coach Dave: series. I blog at www.alainsworth.com and lead a mastermind group for writers.
The value that I bring to a project is my ability to help you creatively frame your message to accomplish your tasks and to make sure that your readers don't have to stumble over grammar and usage errors to get to the heart of your story.
Work Terms
I can dedicate up to 10 hours a week to freelance projects, letting you know in advance how much time I have available to dedicate to your particular project. I prefer daytime (CDT) hours but will work at irregular odd hours when necessary, as well.
i prefer to set up milestones in order to have clear communication and expectations about the end result. That keeps me on track with hitting agreed-upon deadlines with excellent work and keeps you accountable to meet the agreed-upon financial obligations.
Email is my preferred method of communication.
