A strong writer, communicator, and social media presence
I am a social journalist with experience finding and reporting on breaking news quickly. I started my career at BNO News (originally had @BreakingNews Twitter handle). A team of four of us built it up from 0 followers to 1.5 million before we sold to NBC News. In this role, I used newsgathering skills to find breaking news quickly, and report it on Twitter.
At Larry King's Ora TV, it was my job to find breaking news and viral content. We published the content, and in my four months at the company, we grew to over 80,000 twitter followers and a strong following on Facebook and on our site.
At Inside.com, I began as a writer, hunting down news and viral content and summarizing it into 240 characters. As a writer, finding news first and getting it onto our app was my priority. I was later promoted to Senior Writer in a role that had me report on breaking news. It was my job to lead breaking news coverage for the app on social media, as well as the app itself. I was later moved into a management role and ended up managing our entire team of 50 writers and all the content they produced for the app. Today I manage my own breaking news Twitter with nearly 25,000 followers.
