I’ve been excited about programming for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Silicon Valley in the 90s I was exposed to engineers, entrepreneurs and burgeoning technology. Programming seemed like wizardry to me as a child, weaving complex tools and experiences out of nothing but ideas. Inspired by everything that was going on around me, I soon taught myself 3D game programming, desktop application and web development.
As a teenager I joined the professional software development world, working with Acuitus in defense education for fifteen years and helping to build ai-driven tutoring systems teaching Windows, Solaris and Linux system administration for DARPA, the US Navy, US veterans and eventually the commercial sector. Working on our defense projects sent me to training commands and bases in Pensacola FL, Monterey CA and San Diego CA to provide support for initial training system deployment and, later, to support war games.
Along with my professional work I have personally continued with web development, machine learning, home automation and game and VR experience development.
In addition to software development, my interests include cooking, baking, gardening, photography, natural building and sustainable living. I live with my wonderful wife Kelsey in Silicon Valley.
