Writer with a sense of humor and a love of organization
As a reformed musical theatre nerd, I have tried quite a few career paths after discovering that auditioning and acting wasn't for me. While living in Washington, DC, I performed and wrote short plays for the National Children's Museum. When the National Children's Museum closed, I worked for several government contractors in administrative and customer service positions. In the evenings, I performed improv and sketch comedy around the DMV area. I found I was much more passionate about comedy than I was data entry so I moved to Chicago. There, I completed Second City's Advanced Writing and Conservatory program and performed at Second City, iO Chicago and the Annoyance Theatre. Unfortunately, this didn't really pay the bills so I worked in recruiting at a recruiting firm and then at an advertising agency. I was constantly on the search for something that combined my love for creative but also paid my bills. I decided to get serious and learn more about the entertainment industry. I attended the Harold Ramis Film School in their inaugral class and eventually moved to Los Angeles. Here, I work as an assistant and writer and have found my niche! I am great at helping people meet their deadlines, provide creative input on their projects and sharpening my skills as a writer. Let me take this crazy journey through the arts and help you on your next project! I guarantee my perspective with enhance your blog, script or unique project!
