I have been involved in the graphic arts/printing industry for 28 years. I started out as a manager for a graphic arts/prepress company in Champaign, IL. I worked my way into typesetting (the forefather of desktop publishing), working on a (at the time) state-of-the art Compugraphic.
I have been involved in the production of Arborist News magazine for the past 26 years, first as its managing editor, then as the exclusive designer and production layout person since 1998. Samples can be viewed online at: http://www.isa-arbor.com/membership/magazinesandnewsletters/arboristnews.aspx. I am listed under Production & Design in the editorial box. It is located on page 10 of most issues.
In addition to magazine layout, I have created logos, brochures, and newsletters. I have also handled the design, layout, and production of several books over the years, working for companies such as Research Press, and the International Society of Arboriculture (the company who publishes Arborist News).
My main hobby is running, although, the more I run, the more I think calling it a "hobby" is an understatement. At times, I'm down right obsessed!! I've run numerous 5Ks, a few 10Ks, and a handful of half marathons. Running a full marathon isn't necessarily on my bucket list, but I might tackle one some day just to say I did it.
